Greetings ~

I have always enjoyed working with miniatures. That includes scale model cars, trucks, airplanes, ships, etc. I have built old west towns and buildings in plastic and wood. Train tables are a big enjoyment for me. I also build dollhouses.
The first dollhouse that I built was back in 1978. And, of course, I couldn't be settled with building a dollhouse with a few rooms. No! I had to do what I always do...go all the way! I built a doll mansion complete with music room, game room, library and tons more. It even had a barn. This house was styled in the period of 1900 to 1910.
I built the house in the month of December during my two weeks off from work for our Christmas vacation. However, I never fully finished it. I'll tell why at the end of this blog.
These are the photographs that I took during the construction of the house. Keep in mind, this was 1978 and there was no internet, no blogs or websites and no digital cameras or cell phones. I took these pictures with an old Kodak snapshot camera and had to have them developed at the local drug store. Remember those days? A roll of film only had 12-exposures so you couldn't take a multitude of pictures like you can today.
These photos highlight only a small portion of the house's construction. So, check it out and see what you think. I think any little girl of the 1970s would have loved this house. Plus I had all the furniture for it as well.
